Automation & schedules
A one-off cleanup fixes today's duplicates. Automation is what keeps them from coming back: Deduptio re-scans on a schedule and emails you only when there is something new to look at. Everything here lives in the Automation card on the Scan page, and it is a Pro feature.
Turning it on
- Run scans automatically — the switch. Off by default.
- How often — Daily or Weekly.
- Next run and Last run appear under the switch once a schedule exists, so you can always tell whether automation actually ran.
What a scheduled scan covers
This is the part worth knowing: a scheduled scan is not limited to the object you last scanned by hand. It scans every object that has a match rule. An object with no rule is skipped entirely — which makes the rule list your scope control. If you want an object left out of automation, remove its rule.
Scheduled scans behave like manual ones in every other respect: they are read-only, they only add groups that aren't already pending, and groups you skipped stay skipped. They never merge anything. Merging is always something you confirm.
The email
When a scheduled scan finds newduplicate groups, you get one email — “Deduptio found N new duplicate groups in {object}” — with a link to the Duplicates page. A scan that finds nothing new sends nothing, so a quiet inbox means a clean workspace.
There is no separate unsubscribe: turning off Run scans automatically on the Scan page stops the emails, because it stops the scans.
Interrupted scans
A manual scan is driven from your browser, but it does not depend on it. If you close the tab mid-scan, the scheduled job picks the scan up and finishes it. You do not need to keep Deduptio open to scan a large object.
If you downgrade
Automation is not silently switched off when a workspace drops to Free — a scheduled scan you set up on Pro can keep running. The Automation card says so plainly (“Automatic scans are still on from a previous plan”) and offers a Turn off automation button. Free plan limits still apply to anything those scans find: the record cap and the monthly merge cap are unchanged.
