The assistant
Where it's turned on, every signed-in page except Admin has an assistant in the corner. It has read access to this help centre and to your own workspace — your merges, scans, and errors — so it can answer a question like “why did my merge fail?” about your actual merge instead of a generic article.
What it can see
When you ask it something, it is given a summary of your workspace state: your Attio connection status, your most recent live merges and scans with their statuses, any bulk merge in progress, and errors logged in the last 7 days. It does not see the field values on your Attio records — names, emails, company data and the rest never leave Deduptio for this. Where an error message from Attio would otherwise quote a real value, that value is stripped out before the assistant sees it; it gets the shape of the error, not the data inside it.
What it cannot do
It never changes anything. It cannot merge, retry a merge, start a scan, roll anything back, reconnect Attio, or touch your billing. Where one of those is the fix, it can point you at the button — you still click it.
What it will not answer
Some things go to a person, not the assistant:
- Pricing, discounts, refunds and invoices. It can tell you the published prices; it cannot negotiate one.
- Roadmap and ship-date promises. It can describe what exists today and point you at the roadmap.
- Deleted or lost data, even when your workspace still shows a 24-hour rollback window open.
- Security, legal, GDPR and subprocessor questions beyond what /security and this page already say.
Ask about one of these and it hands the conversation to George rather than answering, and it tells you it has done so.
When it hands over
The assistant aims to escalate rather than guess when it is unsure, not just on the topics above — a wrong answer about your CRM costs more than a slow one. When it escalates, it normally files what you asked as a ticket with your conversation attached, and you get a reply by email rather than in the widget. If filing the ticket itself fails, it says so plainly and gives you the support email address to write to directly, instead of claiming a handoff that did not happen.
Privacy
Your messages, the assistant's replies, and the workspace-state summary above are sent to Anthropic to generate each answer. Conversations are kept for 90 days and then deleted. See the privacy policy for the full picture of what we collect and who processes it.
