How merging differs — and why it matters
Merging is where duplicate tools earn or lose your trust. Deduptio calls Attio's own merge under the hood, so the result is identical to merging by hand in the Attio UI: the surviving record keeps every email thread, call recording, note and activity entry, and references from other records keep pointing at it. There's no reconstruction step that can drop something.
DeDupe takes a different approach: it builds a "surviving record" by letting you pick the winning value for each conflicting field, then moves notes, tasks, files, lists and relationships across. That gives you fine-grained control over which value wins per attribute — genuinely useful when duplicates hold conflicting data — at the cost of a more involved review flow. Deduptio's per-attribute winner rules are on the roadmap; today Deduptio follows Attio's native merge semantics.

DeDupe tiers its monitoring subscription by workspace record count — from $35/month at the smallest band to $123/month at 30,000 records and up from there (as of August 2026). A growing workspace moves you up tiers. Their $145 one-time cleanup is cheaper than Deduptio's $500 managed cleanup, but the two aren't the same product: DeDupe's is a self-serve run you review yourself, while Deduptio's managed cleanup is done for you, with match rules tuned to your data and a human reviewing every merge before it runs.
